Trump drug policy director: 1st decline in overdose-related deaths in 30 years

Jim Carroll, director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy, said Friday that the US has seen a drop in drug overdose deaths for the 1st time in almost 3 decades, of 5%. On average, the CDC estimates that 130 Americans die every day from an opioid overdose. However, alcohol-related deaths have risen.
