25% of adopted UK children affected by drinking during pregnancy

1 in 4 adopted children are either diagnosed with or suspected to have conditions caused by drinking in pregnancy, according to an Adoption UK survey of about 5,000 adopters: 8% of children had a diagnosis, and another 17% were suspected by their parents to have foetal alcohol spectrum disorder.
