Ireland: half of gambling addicts have a problem with substance abuse

Ireland’s Health Research Board evaluated 3,000 people who received treatment for gambling problems – 53% reported gambling as their sole problem, and 47% linked to problem substance use. The most common drugs alongside gambling were alcohol (86%), cannabis (32%), cocaine (28%) and benzos (11%).
