Adolescent substance abuse – except for cannabis and vaping – falls

Substance abuse among adolescents is falling, except for an uptake in cannabis and vaping use, according to Columbia University which examined data from 536,291 adolescents 1991-2019. Lack of paid employment, low social engagement and low participation in structured activities are predictors of substance abuse.
