Anxiety pills “could become the next opioid crisis”

Experts warned the US risks creating an opioid-like crisis with anxiety pills if it screens everyone under the age of 65 for anxiety. The warning comes after the US Preventative Services Task Force recommended last month that the roughly 200million Americans aged 18 and above are checked – even if they don’t have symptoms. The pills are “harder to come off than heroin”.
