New Zealand: local alcohol policies not working as intended

Parliament will this month debate a private member’s bill in the name of MP Chloe Swarbrick which would block appeals of councils’ local alcohol policies. These appeals – typically by supermarkets and the liquor industry – have stalled councils’ alcohol policies.
