What happens after opioid doses are reduced?

Kaiser Permanente et al found, in a study of 3,913 patients, that a decreasing opioid dose trajectory led to a lower risk of opioid use disorder and continued opioid therapy – but also to an increased risk of disenrolment. An increasing dose trajectory linked to increased risk of mortality and opioid use disorder but not to opioid therapy or disenrolment.
