Almost 1,000 prison leavers on sobriety tags

Offenders leaving prison are fitted with alcohol monitoring tags if their probation officer thinks they are likely to reoffend when drinking. They began in Wales last year and rolled out to England in June as alcohol plays a part in 39% of violent crime. About 12,000 alcohol-tag orders are expected over the next 3 years.
