Males are more vulnerable than females to overdose deaths

Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai found that men had a 2-3 times greater rate of overdose mortality than women for overdose deaths involving opioid and stimulant drugs in 2020-2021. Data also suggest that men are more likely than women to use almost all types of illicit drugs.
