Canada: municipalities crack down on public drug use

The British Columbia Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General is undertaking policy work to support possible fall 2023 legislation to regulate the use of drugs in certain public spaces. In the interim, Port Coquitlamkicked off with a bylaw restricting the use of drugs in its parks, playgrounds and recreation centres to protect children.
