Drug crime boom “threatens EU democracies”

Law enforcers are on the back foot as the drug barons “want to decide on big issues in our society”, Europol boss Catherine De Bolle said, adding that Europe had replaced the US as the primary target market for international drug traffickers, and arrivals of drugs are expected to spike over the next 2 years amid a glut in production.
