Medical cannabis laws don’t cut opioid prescriptions

State laws allowing medical cannabis use did not reduce prescriptions for opioids or other therapies for chronic, non-cancer pain, according to Weill Cornell Medicine investigators. Added to this is the fact that questions remain about whether cannabis is effective at treating chronic non cancer pain – research so far indicates not.
