HHS recommendation to DEA on marijuana scheduling

Following media reports that the US Department of Health and Human Services recommended to the Drug Enforcement Agency that marijuana be a Schedule III substance – despite rising evidence of marijuana harms – Smart Approaches to Marijuana president Kevin Sabet, former White House drug policy adviser to 3 presidents, issued this statement.
