Scotland remains ‘the drugs-death capital of Europe’

The Daily Mail picks up the report on drug deaths in Scotland, highlighting that opioids such as heroin and methadone were involved in 867 (82%) deaths in 2022, benzodiazepines in 601 deaths, cocaine in 371 and new psychoactive substances in 476 drug misuse deaths – the numbers exposing polydrug use.
