Cannabis use in Ireland is “of great concern”

Chief medical officer Professor Breda Smyth warned of the hidden harm to children living with parental problem drug use. Speaking to the 5th meeting of the Citizens’ Assembly on Drugs Use, she added: “The strength of cannabis increased by 57% from 2011-2021… Cannabis can cause addiction. We have 45,000 people with cannabis-use disorders.”
