Overdose deaths rose in pregnant and postpartum women

Between January- June 2018 and July-December 2021, drug deaths rose markedly in 10-44-year-old females who were pregnant or pregnant in the previous 12 months, according to the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA). Overdose mortality more than tripled among those aged 35-44 during the study period.
