2,862 criminals wearing alcohol tags over May bank holiday

Alcohol plays a part in about 38% of violent incidents, with courts ordering offenders and defendant to wear ‘sobriety tags’ that tell probation officers if they have been drinking. Almost 3,000 criminals will wear alcohol tags ahead of the May bank holiday – a rise of over 25% since last year.
