RCPsych: Government urged to tackle Scotland’s ‘alcohol emergency’

The Office for National Statistics showed alcohol-specific deaths across the UK reached a record high. There were 16.6 deaths per 100,000 people across the UK – but in Scotland the rate was 22.9 deaths per 100,000. “They may only be the tip of the iceberg,” the Royal College of Psychiatrists in Scotland warned.
