The Office of National Statistics published Alcohol-specific deaths in the UK: registered in 2022 – 10,048 deaths, the highest on record. See also: Scotland’s alcohol deaths worst in UK and 33% jump in deaths from alcohol-specific causes from 2019. Covid lockdowns exacerbated this.
