Vicarious racism linked to alcohol, marijuana

Experiencing racism can lead to substance use – what about “second hand” racism? San Diego State University found that greater emotional impact (not frequency) of such racism linked to a 50% rise in odds of alcohol consumption and to increased marijuana use only for those low on ethnic identity.
