44% of HMP Wandsworth prisoners use drugs

Scandal-hit HMP Wandsworth was yesterday described as ‘the worst of the English prison system’ in a HM Inspectorate of Prisons report. 51% of prisoners surveyed said it was easy to get illicit drugs and the smell of cannabis was everywhere, drug testing was suspended for 6 months, in February 44% of prisoners tested positive.
