SAMHSA: Annual National Survey on Drug Use and Health

The Annual National Survey on Drug Use and Health revealed that, in 2023, 3.1% of people (8.9million) misused opioids in the past year, similar to 2022 and 2021. Of the 134.7million people aged 12 or older who used alcohol in 2023, 61.4million people (45.6%) also engaged in binge drinking in the past month. Marijuana was the most common illicit drug.
