Warning over alcohol and common prescription drug at same time

A Romanian man had been taking escitalopram and one day, after drinking ‘substantial’ amounts of alcohol, he developed muscle pain, trembles and passed out. Doctors theorized his Lexapro caused his muscles to break down – leaking damaged tissue into his blood, blocking his kidneys and putting him into life-threatening kidney failure.
