West Virginia University’s Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute is using focused ultrasound waves to reset cells inside the brain’s reward center, the nucleus accumbens. They hope the procedure can treat addictions ranging from drugs like opioids and methamphetamine to gambling and eating.
