On International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women today, UN Women and the UNODC published Femicides in 2023: Global Estimates of Intimate Partner/Family Member Femicides. Fewer victims (11%) and perpetrators (20%) of femicides were under the influence of alcohol than in male homicides (25%, 30%).
