US president-elect Donald Trump yesterday chose Stanford University’s Jay Bhattacharya to run the National Institutes of Health, the country’s top public funder of medical research with a budget of $47.3billion. Robert F Kennedy Jr is Trump’s pick to lead the Department of Health and Human Services, which oversees the NIH.
