Alcohol-related deaths climb massive 42% on 5 years ago

Medical experts called on Secretary of State for Health and Social Care Wes Streeting to implement a ‘life saving’ scheme after alcohol-related death saw a ‘catastrophic’ rise of 42% over the past 5 years. In 2023, 8,274 people died from drinking alcohol – the Alcohol Health Alliance said this is only the ‘tip of the iceberg’.
