Trump labels drug cartels as terrorist groups – implications

US president Donald Trump designated criminal gangs and drug cartels operating south of the Mexico border as “foreign terrorist organisations”. How will this order, if it eventually becomes law, impact the people towards whom it is directed? Professor Amalendu Misra of Lancaster University gives some answers.
