UK alcohol deaths hit record high – again

The Office for National Statistics’ latest numbers on alcohol deaths reveal the 4th consecutive year a new record has been reported: 10,473 deaths from alcohol-specific causes were registered in the UK in 2023. These deaths are a direct consequence of alcohol, such as alcoholic liver disease.
