Opioid test data lacking in half of US injury death investigations

Opioid testing information was unavailable in half of injury death investigations in the US and in 1 in 10 unintentional overdose death investigations in 2021, according to Northwestern Medicine. This means underestimating drug-related mortality, said the lead author who called for more test availability.
