Prescription painkiller misuse and addiction: widespread in chronic pain patients

A University of Bristol scientific review of 148 studies enrolling over 4.3million adult chronic pain patients treated with prescription opioid painkillers found that 9.3% of patients experiences opioid dependence or opioid use disorder and 29.6% show symptoms of dependence and opioid use disorder.
