Public Health Scotland published Drug-related hospital statistics. In 2023/24, there were 11,136 drug-related hospital stays, up from 9,654 the previous year. The highest stay rate was for opioids. The highest patient rate was people aged 35-44 years. Stays for drug poisoning/overdose rose to 27 stays per 100,000 population.
