Tackling nitazenes and drug-related deaths in England

Between June 2023 and May 2024, at least 284 deaths in the UK were linked to nitazenes. While the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities and the National Crime Agency track and analyse overdose data, local councils are often first to respond on the ground. Councils are responsible for drug treatment programs and harm reduction initiatives, the Local Government Association stated.
