Alcohol-associated cancer deaths are climbing

Alcohol-associated cancer deaths doubled in the US, disproportionately affecting men and those aged 55 or older, according to an observational study presented at the 2025 ASCO Annual Meeting. Over 30 years, proportional mortality rates rose for all cancer types linked to alcohol use for both sexes and in all age groups.
