Substance use disorders and 30-day unplanned readmission

University of California et al found that, among patients who had 0, 1, 2, 3 or more unplanned readmissions, 7.1%, 8.8%, 14.0% and 15.5% had a substance use disorder at their index admission, respectively. This was disproportionately high compared to patients without a substance use disorder.
