Addiction in senior care homes

University of Bedfordshire and the Care Quality Commission will explore how people with drug/ alcohol dependence are supported in care homes. 1,756 care homes for older people reported at least 1 person with substance dependence in 2022/23 in England. In 2024, almost 90,000 aged over 50 received drug or alcohol treatment.
