Improving substance use disorder care in nursing facilities

Despite growing demand, most nursing facilities are underprepared to deliver evidence-based SUD care, resulting in adverse outcomes for patients and a strain on the health care system. This applies to drug-for-a-drug and inadequate access to supportive programming for SUD and undertreatment of pain, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and IPRO revealed.
