Shisa7 gene is key driver in heroin addiction

Icahn School of Medicine et al found a unique molecular signature and genes in the brain’s orbitofrontal cortex associated with heroin-seeking behavior. A preclinical rodent model implicated a gene called Shisa7 as the key predictor of heroin addiction.
