Australia: new standards for counsellors, psychotherapists

Federal health minister Mark Butler’s recent endorsement of the National Standards for Counsellors and Psychotherapists should improve how GPs manage mental health referrals. These standards create a national baseline for education, supervision, ethics and competency across the counselling and psychotherapy sector.
