Drivers were warned not to drink at all as the drink-drive limit is set to be slashed in England and Wales. The drink-drive limit in England, Wales and Northern Ireland is currently 35mgs of alcohol per 100ml of breath, the highest in Europe alongside Malta. This could be reduced to 22 micrograms in England and Wales, in line with Scotland.
