Bills to regulate addiction treatment industry

New Jersey’s Assembly oversight committee unanimously approved a trio of bills yesterday to beef up state control over certain drug and alcohol treatment facilities, their owners, and their use of peer recovery specialists. Two of the proposals raised concerns for some treatment providers, with witnesses telling the committee the measures go too far.
