Demand for doulas to help moms with addiction

Mental health conditions and substance use disorder are leading underlying causes of maternal death. Doulas trained in supporting pregnant and postpartum moms with substance use disorder are in increasing demand. Colorado and Utah passed laws to include Medicaid coverage for doula care and some clinics incorporate peer recovery doulas.
