US poison centers: kratom calls soar

Calls to poison centers about kratom increased over 1,200% between 2015-2025, with a corresponding rise in hospitalizations, University of Virginia revealed. Poison experts called for increased scrutiny of kratom, and public health education campaigns to highlight that using kratom can have deadly consequences, especially taken with alcohol or drugs.
