EU controls 9 drug precursors

The European Commission took a major step to introduce EU-wide controls on 9 high-risk precursor chemicals used in illicit drug production via new legislation this week. The Delegated Regulation (EU) 2026/314 builds on the first EU-level precursor assessments carried out by the European Union Drugs Agency. 8 precursors link to synthetic cathinones and one to amphetamine.
