Detox for the homeless: tenders invited

London’s only detox unit for homeless people with drug and alcohol addictions, at St Thomas’ Hospital, has been closed – but after a backlash, a spokesperson from Department of Health and Social Care announced plans for its replacement. London local authorities will begin inviting tenders for a different, “more sustainable” service this month.
