Wastewater analysis: drug use

Since 2021, the Home Office’s Wastewater Analysis for Narcotics Detection Programme has taken samples from wastewater treatment plants across England and Scotland, to provide estimates of drug consumption. This report presents, for the 1st time, England estimates of drug consumption and market value based on an experimental and new methodology.
