Semaglutide study: alcohol addiction

A £2.75million study co-led by the University of Plymouth et al will explore a treatment for people impacted by liver disease, obesity and alcohol addiction – the trial will see patients treated with Semaglutide, to assess if it can help suppress their cravings for alcohol as well as lose weight. The researchers hope that will then have a positive impact on patients’ liver disease.
