The Lancet declares 1st-ever strike

National Union of Journalists members at The Lancet and its affiliated journals will go on strike on 22 September for a day with more planned. The strike is the 1st in The Lancet’s 200-year history, affecting 110 employees across its 30 journals. Owner Elsevier and the NUJ finalised a collective bargaining agreement in February. The NUJ also urged members not to work hours outside their contract.
