Drug deaths: 830 men, 303 women

Men at higher risk of becoming victims of Scotland’s drug death epidemic, the Scottish Sun highlighted. Andrew McAuley, professor of public health at Glasgow Caledonian University, wants to see a more targeted approach to solving the problem, as the stats revealed 830 drug deaths among men – up 19% 2024 – compared to 303 women, who were 5% down.
