The ‘Troubles’ and resultant addiction

Research has shown that substance abuse is a deeply entrenched social problem in Northern Ireland. Similar to prescription drugs, alcohol has been used as a coping mechanism by many, due to the traumas of lengthy, violent invasion and rebellion.
